New Airline @ MSP
Probably will get removed because it's not Delta specific but it affects alot of DL passengers for competition. Thoughts on the new airline?
Amid efforts to increase competition to hold down air fares, officials Monday announced the arrival of a new airline at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
While not disclosing the name of the carrier, the Metropolitan Airports Commission said it is an established airline that flies internationally but will serve only domestic routes from MSP.
The MAC plans to identify the airline Wednesday.
The airport has had some of the higher fares in the nation in recent years and landing the new airline took three years, airport spokesman Patrick Hogan said.
"It's part of our overall effort to bring in more competition," Hogan said.
He said the new carrier will fly daily from MSP out of the Humphrey Terminal, which is used by lower cost carriers like Southwest and Sun Country.

Both B6 and VX came to mind when I saw the thread title, both would be wholeheartedly welcome. Both have been sniffing around (market analysis, etc.).
I, for one, am happy that the MAC is edging away from acting like DL's lapdog. There's no stopping DL's un-hubbing, job-eliminating, single-aisle slide, so we might as well start adding more choices.
Now, if only we could get SK with a non-stop to Oslo

Sprit just took delivery of a 320. So they could be looking to expand. VX is going to be coming to MSP sooner or later. They have a ton of 320 in the pipe and after that a ton of 320neo. A good chunk of the order will be complete by 2016.
Since they are running domestic it's not AM.
The interesting question for me is will they end up in Terminal 2 or will they be able to finagle space in terminal 1? Seems to me DL is gate heavy in MSP for mainline. But I think they would hold on to them rather than let them go to someone else.

Glad that even the MSP people still aren't referring to it as Terminal 1 and 2. PR gaffe.
