I saw it sitting outside the TOC in Atlanta yesterday. The picture is good, but the real thing is even better. Very nice!

Unhappy

It's sad to think that the only thing left of the old Delta is a paint job.

I saw it this morning - they had it parked outside the shareholders meeting. During the meeting Grinstein said that the rest of the livery will be in the "furled flag" motif by spring of 2005.

I must disagree. This special livery is hideous! They were trying to match their old DC-3 livery but were too lazy to strip the fuselage (the DC-3 was bare metal with similar logos and stripes). The gray paint looks pathetic.

It was a good idea but the implementation was a zero!

Darn it!! I'm flying 2 different 763's next week. Unfortunately, I won't get on the Spirit of Delta. By the way.. do they still have the live tv on it?

I think the retro livery looks great. It was a good idea and I hope I get to see her this year.

Anyone know if N102DA will do any crop-dusting as part of the commemoration?

Thanks for the link, and I agree it's very cool.

Now, how about some retro-passenger service and benefits? I'd be more than happy to go back in time to the Delta that existed at the time the "Spirit" was delivered, even including the late flights in ATL that resulted from holding planes for late in-bound passengers.

It proves you can't please everyone but they finally hit something that most of us here like.
