Are there currently any Skymiles enrollment bonuses? I know there has been in the past.

My dad got a 1000 mile bonus - he enrolled online. But we didn't know about this one until the 1000 miles posted to his account.

Here in Germany, they often had enrollment forms at the CTOs, offering 10.000 bonus miles after the first flight.

The closest you might get is the current first time online booking bonus. In addition to normal 1000 miles when booked online, first time bookers earn an additional 4000 miles. Good for travel booked and completed by May 31. Complete details under Special Offers on delta.com

Their lastest bonus is a bottle of aspirin to get you ready for a dose of "Simply Good Business".

Just for your information:
They made a referral bonus 1,5 years ago; you could, as Skymiles member, refer up to 5 peoples, and that was 5000 miles for the referee, and 10 000 if I am right, for the newbie.
I never heard or saw anything about an another campaign.
I do not know why this is so rare.

As part of the new and improved Skymiles program for 2001, SM's have to pay for their aspirin, GM's get a bottle of aspirin in lieu of 2 SWU's every 20,000 miles once they reach 40k, and PM's are now limited to 6 bottles no matter how many miles a year that they fly.

There is an enrollment bonus:
"2001 INTERNATIONAL ENROLLMENT BONUS"
It is valid until December 31, 2001 and this promo gives you:

- a 1000 mile enrollment bonus
- a 10.000 mile activation bonus after your first DL / DL Connection flight

It is valid for new members with an address outside the U.S. - you might find some advertisement at CTOs outside the U.S.

How do we translate that in good old (english / french ?) ?

Is this 1000 miles for me and 10 000 for the new member ?If true, this is not a bonus, just a chewing-gum.

May be I am understanding wrong.

Is this posted somewhere ? or did you receive a paper information ?

The bonus only applies to the new member - 1000 miles for enrollment and 10'000 miles after the first flight (if taken in 2001). (=pas de chewing-gum pour tous les autres...)

Delta has had this promo for years - usually they have a small brochure in CTOs outside the U.S. (at least they had some in 2000 here in MUC). I don't know why they don't post it on their website...

Sign-up bonus for Skymiles

Does anyone here know if Delta offers any sign-up bonuses for new European members of Skymiles? I will be flying Air France in next month and I would rather have to deal with Delta Skymiles than with AF.

Thanks a lot.

Sorry, nothing. There are very few referral promtions with them.
If you want to register with Frequence Plus, I can get you a 5000 miles referral bonus. Just e-mail me.
But, I would agree, that is not the first choice (Although you can get the higher levels quicker).

A long, long time ago back in the day of DL Frequent Flyer (rather than SkyMiles), I believe they offered 5,000 miles for enrollment. Mind you, back then, they offered 1,000 miles for minimum mileage on each flight - they offered lotsa nice things they don't do now - but, let's not go there!

Yes, in about 90% of European markets thay are through the end of December. Check with DL in your local country if this applies to you. It should be 10,000 sign up bonus.

Not too long ago (about 2-3 years ago) there also was an offer of 5K enrollment bonus for non US residents. I don't know if it is currently offered.
