SkyMiles Account Number Trivia
Strictly trivia, but from what I've noticed, I believe it is possible to correlate the first 3 numbers of a SM Acct No. to ones longetivity in the program. Is there really a correlation and if so, who here has the most longevity in the DL program based on the digits in your SM acct number?
My acct. no. begins with 200 and I initially joined in 1986 or 1987 (I think). If I'm not mistaken, I've noted a few MM tags on carry-ons with numbers that begin with 199. Anyone have a SM number that begins with a number earlier than 199? Anyone know where the numbers began? 100?

I joined in the early 80's when the program first started. My SM's number...and Mrs. Cholula's, who joined at the same time...both begin with a zero as in 0255XXXXXX.

I joined in 1980 I believe when they gave paper receipts with the number of segments you earned were indicated by an inked hand entry. You saved them until they totaled 40 and then mailed them for a ticket. Shortly thereafter they automated and I got a FF # that started with a 02xxxxxxxx.
