DL to Start MCO-AMS on 3/30/18
This hasn't been publicly announced yet but I know someone who works for DL in MCO told me that DL is planning to start MCO-AMS on a 763. It will be daily service and has a tentative start date of 3/30/18 but a public release from DL should be released soon. She also told me that DL will be adding more flights from MCO in the future but no destinations or new flights have been determined yet.

That might be a tough market - lots of low yield holiday traffic and quite of bit of competition from Europe (Norwegian, Condor, Thomas Cook, airBerlin, Lufthansa, BA).
Glad to see another TATL option though.

For those concerned that this is a competitive low-yield market, dont forget there is also a sizable business-related DL FF base in central FL (myself included) and right now LH is the only real option for us. This new route, if true, can't come soon enough!

I believe we use to have service to FRA back in the 90s but I'm not 100% sure. The huge CRC (now SC) is still big but DL gave some of it back to MCO and turned the right side of the club into The Club at MCO. My source told me that MCO just got a new DL manager from CMH and he was explaining to them what was in store for MCO. I remember MCO had a survey recently on proposed international flights and MCO was working with a few airlines to provide a new service. MCO is working on making some of the 90s Gates INTL "swing" gates with Gate 90 being A380 capable with 3 jetways.

MCO makes some sense because you can draw from some nearby markets. Out of TPA or JAX, you'll have to connect to go to Europe, but being based in JAX, I could drive the 2 hours and have a nonstop.
I'd consider it.

There's lots of European and South American traffic here in MCO. MCOs INTL traffic is way up and many new routes have been announced in the last few years. A new South International Terminal is being built and some existing gates are being converted to handle INTL arrivals. Currently there is no service to AMS from MCO. LH has been doing MCO-FRA for about 10 years now and the demand has been so high that it has been UGd to a 747 year round.
