DL Summer 2018 Transoceanic Routes

DL has begun loading the Summer 2018 transoceanic schedule. This is a continuation from last year's thread. DL Summer 2017 Schedule

Edit: wiki cleaning complete. I did run through all flights and what is up there should be correct. JFK-LHR has been officially announced to be upgauged to A330 equipment although that hasn't been updated on the schedule and unknown whether it will be 332 and/or 333.

Updates:
JFK-PDL still not loaded
JFK-LHR - still showing 76Ls on the schedule after DL announced 330 service.
DTW-CDG is 76L (new freq) and 332 (that was a downgauge), that might be funding a 333 on JFK-LHR.
BOS-AMS - 2nd frequency in the summer now showing 76Z, very surprised to see that downgauge and that it's a 76Z and not 764.

The upgauge on ATL-GIG seems surprising in that I would expect the number of people visiting Rio from the USA to be declining rather than increasing and the Brazilian economy doesn't seem to be improving so as to support an increase in traffic in the opposite direction.

What is going on with JFK-GIG? It seems to only operate for 3 months in the winter of 2017/18 and then its done. What happened?

Also what about EWR-AMS? IS it gone as well? Can't believe DL dropped its third flight JFK-LHR. With redemptions going up on partner flights and Globals being hard to use on VS, it's a big loss as a JFK traveler.

GIG is high season around Christmas/NYE/Carnival and generally when people in northern North America want sun and warmth. However, GIG is leisure and generally not a business destination.

I didn't hear that EWR-AMS was going to be suspended, but the OP said it was. Maybe the official statement hasn't been released yet?

The last JFK-GIG seems to be 3/5 after only operating during the winter months. Maybe DL is already converting this flight from year round to seasonal before it even starts? Even in the winter it isn't daily. It seems to only be 5x per week most weeks. Maybe GOL isn't providing enough Brazilian passengers or able to connect DL passengers to secondary cities?

Uggggh to the 777 on SEA-CDG. Losing 2-seat sections in Y is a huge bummer; isn’t there some better long range route to stick that thing on?

I'm eager to see if those rumored Focus City-AMS flights from the supposedly-informed 767 pilot on another forum actually happen later this Fall. Are there any noticeable free-ups of 757s for shorter routes?

I think IND-AMS may have been that rumored AMS flight. How many cities have the right combination of European demand and DL flyers? STL has the demand, but BA STL-LHR would make more sense due to the large number of AA flyers. MEM has the DL flyers but I am not sure about the demand. Maybe BDL or CMH?

There are a lot of free 75Z's for next summer.

PIT-CDG switched from a 757 to 763.
PHL-CDG is supposedly nixed from its 752.
PHL-LHR is definitely nixed from its 752.
JFK-CPH switched from a 757 to 763.
JFK-ARN is dropped from its 752.

JFK-PDL and JFK-SNN picked up a 752.

This leaves 3 possible extra 752's to cross the pond next summer?

There's better service to GRU, from ATL and JFK plus some days from DTW, so that would be the preferred connection to smaller airports in Brazil.
