Okay I just signed up for Clear. Yay! I'll get to try it out tomorrow before the DO.

As far as entry to the SkyClub goes, Clear does NOT give access - - - YET, I'm told. The hawker says they're working on it.

I now have an appointment WAAAY out of town Sunday morning. Depending on when I get back to metro Atlanta I may check here to see what folks are getting up to. Good news is it looks like Mrs. Lee and I are good to go for at least the first part of Saturday.

If folks are going up to Jekyll, I might recommend that folks just split the cost of a rental car and stay reasonably sober for the day (Georgia distribution laws limit how much beer you'll get at each brewery, anyway). Alpharetta is a decent drive from Atlanta proper. Uber/Lyft are certainly available up there, but won't be as dense so you might be waiting for a bit to come back down. It's doable and probably a good idea if you're going to take more than one "brewery tour", just less convenient.

Did they mean that CLEAR membership might also convey access rights to a SC? Or just that you can use CLEAR to identify yourself as someone who has access rights by other means (Reserve card, membership, D1 ticket, etc.)?

I'm not sure what I'll be doing after the TRACON tour, but I'll have time to kill before my late afternoon flight. My best guess is that I'll need to go back to my North Perimeter hotel to check out sometime before mid afternoon as I'll probably not have time to do that in the morning before our 9 am tour--I don't think I'll want to get up at the crack of dark in my jetlagged state.

So the CLEAR kiosk at the entrance to the B SC is just decoration, at least for now?

As far as I understand it at the moment, Clear membership has absolutely nothing to do with Sky Club entry, admission, ID checking, nothing. Apparently, the kiosk when you get off the elevator is usually manned by another hawker trying to get you to sign up. They have 2 hawkers there on busy days. Only one today. He was inside the club.

The kiosks are obviously tied into SkyMiles, because is the display with showing the price of $179 until I entered my SkyMiles number, then it was free.

So I would need to be guested into the SCs, and it appears that there in no way to do this. As such, I might just show up for the OFS dinner. What time is that?

I am also planning on going to the surplus sale and possible HQ tour. Are we starting at 9? How do we recognize each other at the surplus sale?

If we stick to the idea of escorting davetravels to his gate (or at least drinking until then ) then I would guess maybe 6:45-7pm for dinner.

Unless someone with an exec membership materializes maybe you and johnnywho could hang in The Club as an alternative?

Would suggest the Surplus Sale folks start a PM chain for coordination or something.

For folks not traveling that need to get airside, there is always the nonrefundable ticket. But it's some work to cancel, and hundreds of dollars get blocked for a week or so. (BTW, what is the cheapest refundable ticket out of ATL?)

Or.... I noticed that Frontier is selling $19.20 tickets for ATL-MCO tomorrow with a 10:20 pm departure. A late flight is great because it allows pass through TSA until quite late. And it's a really cheap fare, although non-refundable.
$0.93 Airfare -- why do they even bother?
$0.07 Federal excise tax (7.5% of $0.93)
$5.60 9/11 Security Fee
$4.10 Domestic Flight Segment Tax
$4.50 ATL Passenger Facility Charge
$4.00 Carrier Interface Charge (a bogus fee that F9 charges for buying a ticket from them)
Total $19.20

Same Frontier deal is available for Saturday, same 10:20 p.m. flight.

Perhaps someone will find this useful.

Does Frontier refuse to do the 24 hour refund on tickets booked within seven days of departure?

Check your PM. Dave and I have been working on a schedule for tomorrow for the surplus sale and taking a look around HQ and possibly one bonus stop.

I'm so jealous. If I had known about the offer of a HQ visit, I would have planned to arrive earlier.

I believe they do, they're sticklers like that. But if you buy The Works ($103 more) the whole thing becomes refundable.

Starting tonight and for the next two weeks, there is also a liquidation sale going on at the Sheraton Atlanta Airport, as it is now permanently closed and will eventually be torn down.

...but you have been there more than once and most likely have already seen what the others might be seeing.
