DTW Skyclub: "one complimentary alcoholic beverage"

Snapped this shot today (3/23) at the Skyclub over by gate A70.

What gives? Has the temperance league taken over the Skyclub? Really, really hope this isn't the beginning of a new policy...

Hope this hasn't been discussed elsewhere...

I've seen those signs for a few years now, and I can't imagine how they would logistically enforce that.

Heck, I've walked away with my two doubles more time than once.

It is never enforced.

I fly through DTW all the time, usually go for those "end cap" sky clubs, and have quite literally never once seen that sign.

Could be a legal issue and they display the sign, but don't enforce it.

The PHL SC had a similar sign a couple years ago, but it wasn't enforced.

Perhaps it's an attempt to avoid liability.

MSP C concourse Skyclub.....self serve. Problem solved.....at least in MSP.

Seriously though never seen this sign. Kinda of a buzz kill if enforced. No pun intended.

Guess you've never been through DTW as all 4 clubs are self serve. As other have already observed, these signs have been there for years (and mentioned several times already on FT) and have never been enforced.

Are airports with self-service clubs considered non-premium markets? Most clubs that are full service also include the premium drink offerings.

NW Worldclub's were largely self-serve and NW designed the McNamara terminal clubs to be self-selve. It's not at all clear that DL could easily re-fit a bar into these clubs. It's more likely due to the NW legacy rather than DL viewing the clubs as being "non-premium".

I see that sign every time I'm in DTW. I'm pretty sure it's just a CYA issue regarding local laws in Detroit. I think I'm going to take my Big Gulp cup into the DTW club next time I'm there. "What! It says ONE drink!"

I have a 4 hour layover in DTW tomorrow so I sure hope it's not enforced.

Question from the "AA terminal" -- do Skyclubs have "premium" selections? In the Admiral's Club they gave me a voucher for one free premium drink (mixed drink, craft beer, sparkling wine), and then the included alcohol was otherwise house wine and Bud Light. Even the Flagship Lounge in DFW.

Caught me off guard since I had landed at DFW from LHR where they had an open bar with some nice spirits in the T5 lounge!

Is the pic of the sign taken in the men's room?

Could be that the limit only applies there
