Ghost seat map question

Ghost seat map question

I am waitlisted with miles for Atl to Ams on Delta. When I look at my reservation it says upgrade waitlisted and when I call in the agents say everything is waitlisted correctly. However I see no ghost map which every other time I have waitlisted I have always seen. Does anybody see a problem with this and or is this a HUCA situation. Thanks.

I'd feel uneasy about it, but I have also cleared off the waitlist automatically even on a flight where I did not have the ghost map. So it's hard to say for certain.

Random tangent: normally when I see the ghost map it appears after my assigned Y/Y+ seat map. I have an upcoming flight waitlisted where the ghost map appears first. Hadn't seen that before.

It depends on if and where the place the waitlisted segment in the reservation. If they place it before, then it appears before, after, than after.

Also if they don't list it in the reservation at all then it doesn't appear. From booking upgrades over multiple years I've been told it doesn't matter if it's placed in there or not. However most agents place it as a marker meaning one less step once/if you clear.

Thanks for the responses. The agent I talked to today said they don't see the ghost map on their end. As an update I now see the ghost map on delta.com but not the delta app. Maybe chalk it up to delta IT? Also the business cabin is wide open and no O space at this time 4 months out. I think I will eventually clear. I cleared immediately for the return through MSP. I know it's delta's right but they are being really stingy sometimes these days.

I've never seen the ghost map on the app, only on the web site.
