Once registered to complete enrollment bring one state approved ID to the enrollment center. You will need a valid, unamended US passport or passport card, US-issued Permanent Resident Card, a valid US driver's license, state-issued photo ID card, or a military ID. Once your identity is verified, they will scan your finger prints and get a picture of your iris.
This process takes about 5-7 minutes and can be done before a flight.
Costs:
Keep in mind Family add-on fee is just $50
You may also wish to peruse this thread in the Trusted Travelers forum: Is CLEAR worth $179 a year? (it goes beyond the question in the title, the answer to which is obviously "no" given the above pricing )
Former CLEAR members:
From their FAQ: "We will honor any time that you have remaining on your CLEAR account. This time will be credited to you once you have reactivated your account."

Just a warning: don't sign up for your free or discounted CLEAR membership until just before you can go get approved in person.
I signed up months ago, but haven't been to an airport with CLEAR reps. I will see them in July and get rolling. Nevertheless, my free year started back in February, even though, in my mind anyway, my membership shouldn't have commenced until I could go through the final approval step, in person.
I had assumed that I'd get a year from the interview - but it's a year from initial website sign-up.

Another warning...or more of a reminder. If you and a spouse/family member both sign up for a free/promo rate, don't forget to call in and merge one of you into a family account after the free period ends.
I completely missed that a family rate existed and paid $99 to renew Mrs. Lee's membership, when she could have been added to my account for only $50.
Luckily, their customer service continues to be incredible. A 5 min web chat later and the family promo was applied and refund being processed back to our credit card.

Actually turned out to be a mistake. The couple in front of me (that I would have jumped) must have been PreCheck freebies as they had no clue. To make matters worse, they had bottles of water in their carry ons.
Instead of 2 minutes thru security it took me over 4 minutes! I want a refund! Oh wait, I got it for free
I know Clear will burn me one day -- I will get so used to breezing thru that I will cut things closer and closer (I live maybe 15 minutes from LAX) and one day the machines will be down or something and I'll miss my flight.
But that being said, I love it for now. It is just like PreCheck when nobody had it -- which means it probably will get worse and more sign up.

Was happy to see that the other day. The Clear guy actually tried to take me to the front of the X-ray line (that is, put my bag so it is next thru the machine) but I thought that a bit much and said, "No, I'll just go here" -- joining the line after the TSA guy.

As for family, i signed my immediate family up for free last year. They had a promo for immediate family to get a free year.

I've also had my BP rescaned a few times there (in the CLEAR/PC) line. LAS on the other hand, I was escorted right through the checkpoint and didn't even see the ID checker. Now that rocked.
If we could have that experience and not even interact with the ID guy anyways, I'd be really really happy.

Renewal?
Does anyone know what happens at renewal time?
Assuming that one is still DM at the time that the original (free for DM) CLEAR membership expires, is renewal automatic? Does one need to do anything? Is there an email reminder, or must we guess when the current CLEAR membership ends and then proactively either renew or do another (free) membership as a new member would?

The membership details section is fairly straightforward and it looks as if the portal was recently redesigned to make it more functional.

Has anyone had luck getting a second free trial for a family member? Had a family member try it out about a year ago, free trial expired. Can they do it again? I'm guessing no as the trials says "new member", but wasn't sure if anyone has tried....

Basically, since they manage identity documents, they're very good at knowing whether or not you've been a member before.
That said, you can add a family member for $50/year which isn't too bad if they frequent airports with CLEAR kiosks. That's what I ended up doing after Mrs. Lee's free trial ended. One email, no issues.

I suppose all the DMs got notice of renewing their membership for one more term, but I am wondering how to address a technical issue with CLEAR.
On the last two if not three uses of CLEAR they have not been able to confirm my fingerprints. Once or twice the eye scan did not work.
Next month, I do OKC-ATL-DTW-PVG and am thinking about going to ATL B to see if CLEAR can resolve this for me. Is there a better way to address my concern? Do they ever use thumbprints rather than fingerprints?
My next real test of CLEAR comes 5 weeks from now when I fly out of LAX.
