So, assuming this aircraft was in the departure queue, does it go on and proceed with the flight or does it go back to the gate for some sort of inspection?

I have not been able to watch the video, but the comments on the FB thread seem to indicate that the flight had just landed and taxied to the gate to offload pax and, I would assume, get the standard post-lightning-strike inspection.

from a passenger's perspective, the experience is even more exciting when you're at ~5000 feet and ~200 knots (230 mph) on approach: big flash, big boom; all the lights went out for a second or so, then flickered a couple times, then back to normal (Feb 1986, DL L-1011, letting down into LAX)
