New LAX-SAT nonstops eff April 2015

DL just loaded new 2x daily LAX-SAT nonstops starting in April 2015; already on delta.com and bookable:

DL5720 LAX 10:55am SAT 3:55pm E75
DL5722 LAX 6:45pm SAT 11:45pm E75

DL5723 SAT 8:05am LAX 9:35am E75
DL5720 SAT 4:30pm LAX 6:00pm E75

This will bring to 9x daily the number of LAX-Texas nonstops:

LAX-DFW 4x daily E75
LAX-AUS 3x daily E75
LAX-SAT 2x daily E75

LAX > BOS is great! Granted the 73-900 is nice but it could really use an upgraded 75. On the Denver front that is a Skywest hub. Doubt you would see DL service. That would rob a ton of business from Skywest.

Doesn't Skywest still fly for Delta? A Delta route via skywest to DEN would be awesome. They announced the addition of this route a few years ago but pull out.

I actually rode a Horizon Q400 on this route ~2009 ... I have to say that the views of Yosemite and Tahoe are a lot more intriguing from 23000 feet than from 33000

Delta would be the fifth carrier on that route, as AA/US, UA, F9, and WN already operate LAX-DEN. Can't imagine DL would see much if any profit going into that route.

I predict that SAT/LAX will be very, very cheap starting next Spring with DL (2 daily), AA (2 daily), UA (4 daily), and WN, too. How much daily demand is there between SAT and LAX???

I wonder if LAX - PHL would be a possibility. VX is dropping it to concentrate on DAL and that leaves only US flying the route.

LAX - CHI has a ton of competition. I can see why that won't happen.

I would say quite a bit between the 7th largest and the 2nd largest cites in the country. Granted the San Antonio MSA isn't quite as large relatively speaking but there is a fair amount of bleed-over from the Austin MSA. SAT has historically been a weak market in terms of $$$ though.
