The Continental Airlines First/BusinessFirst Menu Items Thread

I was looking through my collection of Continental meal pictures and thought it'd be nice to share them here on FT so people know exactly what they will be getting on future CO flights.

Domestic Breakfast (except transcon and shorthaul)
Generally for breakfast, you will have 2 choices:

1. Eggs
It will be an egg variety (scrambled or omelette) with potates (the broccoli potato cake or potatoes slices), grilled ham, mushrooms, and a sausage patty

or

2. Cereal with a banana
The above choices come with:
1. Morning breads: Cinnamon buns or country biscuit.
2. Strawberry yogurt (I have never had any other flavor )
3. Fruit bowl: typically honey dew, grapes, melon, pinneaple, orange slices topped with mango or grapefruit

Domestic Lunch (except transcon)
For lunch, you will also have two choices of the following (note: on shorthaul i.e. ORD-IAH, you will not have a choice and the meal will typically be the warm option):

1. Cold option:
Salad with cold shrimp (chicken, or steak)

or

2. Warm option:
Ruben sandwich (with mustard)
Chicken wrap (with tabasco)
Gourmet cheeseburger (with ketcup mustard and veggie fillings)

The above choices come with:
1. A cup of hot soup:
broccoli and chedar
mushroom
minestrone
split pea and ham

2. A fruit cup
3. A Pepperidge Farm cookie packet

Domestic Dinner (except transcon)

For dinner, you will also have two choices similar to the lunch items:

1. The warm option from the lunch items above

or

2. Warm entrees in a bowl:
Asian prawns with fried rice
Short rib with ravioli
Short rib with mashed potatoes in chanterelle gravey
Pasta Bowl

The above items come with
1. Salad bowl (lettuce with corn, tomatoes, cucumber etc)
2. A cup of soup:
broccoli and chedar
mushroom
minestrone
split pea and ham

3. A dessert:
Cheesecake
Fruit tart

Transcontinental Lunch & Dinner Service
You will receive a printed menu with a choice of 3 or4 entrees:

Starter:
1. A chilled seafood appetizer
lobster claw
shrimp cocktail
shrimp and crab cocktail
slices of smoked salmon
smoked salmon two way

2. A salad bowl with corn, tomatoes, olives, etc
3. Bread basket

pretzel
white
whole grain
garlic bread

Entrees:
1. Steak
sterling silver sirloin, tenderloin with dry rub or sauce
potatoes, rice, polenta, and veggies

2. Chicken
breast of stuffed chicken with dry rub or sauce
potatoes, rice, polenta, and veggies

3. Pasta bowl
With meat or vegetarian
4. Veal
with sauce and potatoes, rice, polenta, and veggies
5. Lamb
with sauce and potatoes, rice, polenta, and veggies
6. Mixed selection (Chicken and steak or seafood and steak etc)

Dessert
Ice cream sundae with toppings
strawberry sauce
hot fudge
caramel sauce
cherry
nuts
whipped cream

Transcontinental Snack Service
For transcon snack, you will receive a warm sandwich and a cup of soup described in the domestic lunch section with a couple of chocoates

International Business Breakfast
International Business Breakfast is almost identical to domestic or transcontinental breakfast service (depending on length). The only difference is the entrees are served on smaller domestic plates. Since international business mostly refers to the Latin America market, you will also likely to have some additional Latin dishes:

Costa Rican Breakfast
scrambled eggs, spanish sausage, carnitas, beans with plantains

International Business Lunch and Dinner
International Business lunch and dinner are almost identical to domestic or transcontinental lunch and dinner service (depending on length). The only difference is the entree are served on smaller domestic plates and that the dessert will be a slice of cake or fruit tart instead of ice cream sundae. On shorter flights, there will not be an appetizer.

BusinessFirst Meal Service
BusinessFirst meal service is almost identical to transcontinental service for all meals. Instead of the chilled seafood appetizer, you will receive a hot trio of appetizers including a bisque. The salad bowl will be served on a salad plate instead with additional toppings. For dessert, you will receive fruit and cheese in addition to the sundae.

Also, depending on the flight length, the prior to arrival meal will either be a breakfast similar to domestic with an egg dish, or it will be a continental breakfast will deli meat and cheese. If the prior to arrival meal is lunch, it will be almost identical to the domestic lunch warm options.

Great posts! i'd suggest you PM CO1E, who was also threading this (I believe in text format only). His thread is here:

I think your thread is a better one, as we have pictures of the food, but his was more complete.

I know there might be some haters in here, but I kinda like the split pea soup with ham.

I think the ham adds great flavor to it.

Yes. Perhaps we could merge the threads, since Bliss' photo reports are quite detailed.

I have to disagree, I actually really like the ham (although I think it is described as some sort of smoked pork)
