Joan Rivers - Security Threat (Denied Boarding by CO GA)
Rivers wasn’t allowed on her Newark-bound flight in Costa Rica this past weekend by a “jittery Continental Airlines gate agent” who thought the two names on her passport, which reads “Joan Rosenberg AKA Joan Rivers,” seemed “fishy."

Good grief.

Almost as dumb as the numnut FA who banned people from reading on a flight from Mexico.
Has CO's staff caught contagious paranoiaonitis from their UA brethren?
I would have LOVED to be on that flight from Mexico - we have one martyr from FT who took a sacrifice fighting the ID nonsense, and I would have signed up as the sacrificial lamb who had a flight diverted because I refused the order to stop reading my Conde Naste Travel magazine.
Pure madness.

Brilliant, CO, give her material for her next show. Can't wait to hear it, though.

from NY mag online:
... was prevented from boarding a flight in Costa Rica bound for Newark on Sunday because a Continental agent deemed her passport suspicious. Not because the birthday field says "1933, New York" while her face says "2009, Dr. Hoefflin's office."
Never can be too cautious....

I love the part where it says the she only had access to 100 dollars LOL
That's right Joan, if you try to bribe ME you will need a hell of a lot more DINERO

The only risk is that she'd melt to the floor.

About time they recognized her as a security threat. Next up, Carrot-Top.

Wow!
She looks like she's had some work. Has she had a recent tune up?

It turns out that her tix said Joseph Rosenberg and the last security agent she went through raised the red flag that the name on the passport did not match the name on the ticket..... I wonder why Joan never noticed that the name on her issued ticket was a man's......

So, there's more to the story... she says her boarding pass said "Joseph" instead of Joan and she made it from check in through customs and all the way to the gate before she was stopped.
