Donating Blood for Miles??

How many of you would donate blood for onepass miles... lets say 1000 miles?

I went to a blood drive about two months ago where they were handing out $15 gas gift cards. The line was out the door and I didn't get a chance to donate.

I am an active donor and this thought came to my mind.

Just want to know what people would think.

That gives new meaning to "blood, sweat, and tears" to earn mileage upgrades and reward trips.

It would be interesting if the Red Cross would actually do this...I give anyway, so I would probably do it.

It would be even better to donate blood just to help others in need, and not for miles.

Nothing wrong with a small incentive, since we don't live in an ideal world and very few people donate 'just to help'

Isn't that what donate means? Nothing in return but a smile?

My employer gives us an additional 8 hours of vacation time to be used within 4 weeks of donating
