Need miles quick for Elite status for 2005
I'm in total panic mode right now.
I'm 14,428 miles short of Silver for 2005 and my back is up against the wall.
Please, I need some ideas. Hurry, I only have a few days left.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all you FT'ers,

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all you FT'ers,
If you find a good CO reservation, I do have some "Fall is in the Air" eCerts you are welcome to use that discount 5% if used for travel by 12/31/04, 10% if after 1/1/05. But being you are trying to requalify for elite, you'll book to get 5% discount.
Just PM me and let me know. Happy Holidays to you.

I would suggest doing 25K of mileage running in Jan. or Feb. of 2005.
That way:
1. You'll still be Silver while doing it.
2. Your Elite status will be valid through 2/2007 instead of 2/2006.
3. You have a bit more time to plan and get a better deal.

I have a funny feeling that Mr. Nomore is jabbing all those folks who neglected to plan ahead. I would be sure he was if he had added "and my budget for getting those 14000+ miles is < $350".
Of course, I could be wrong, in which case I would suggest getting out the high-limit MC.

25K in Jan or Feb? sounds like fun! Has it ever been done in one trip?

Buy Miles
Is there any way to buy miles? I know that NW offers this but was unsure if CO did.

Making Plat in 2 months
In the time period of Jan and Feb of 2001 I managed to fly enough actual miles with 3 round trips to SIN via IAH/NRT and a couple of trips to AMS/LGW and earnt 75k actual miles in those 2 months to renew my 2002 PLAT status. This year I went PLAT by June on CO by regular HKG and LGW/AMS out of IAH/EWR. Most (if not all) of those seats were milage upgraded too.
I also tried a 25k RTW1 with CO/KLM/NWA but that was a disaster and I never ever got the miles. Fare classes are a "jungle"
I worked out that an economy fare from AUS-EWR-HKG round trip earnt 43k miles and the uprade was 50kmiles = net minus7k miles (nothing when you fly F or BF all the time and do $50k a mo on Amex..........) Its called "working the system"
Anything is possible if you are stupid!! And BTW I signed my client - the Govt of Singapore.............

What's the deal with Jan/Feb miles? I have approx. 23,000 miles on CO this year so I didn't quite make Silver Elite. However there is a good chance I will get the remaining 2000 miles in Jan/Feb 2005. Does that mean I will make Silver for 2005? or am I just starting at zero again?
Thanks,
Truly
