CO 957 Island Hopper report

Hello -- a friend and I had the privilege of flying CO 957 a couple weeks ago, also known as Continental Micronesia's Island-Hopper from HNL to GUM making five stops.

I thought I'd share my blog posts and photo gallery with FlyerTalk.

It was an amazing experience! Let me know if you have any specific questions about it...

- Mike :-)

Dont they only allow you off the plane on one of the stops? Or something like that? I think I remember reading that somewhere.

If you are going to Guam, the non-stop leaves at about 1pm, the Island Hopper leaves at 7am and both arrive at Guam at the same time. It is gruelling but worth it , and if you are a diver or snorkler, stopovers at Majuro, Pohnpei and Truk are worth it

I very much enjoyed the report and all the pictures. Though I must say, despite all the beautiful photos and descriptions, what really amazed me is that United gave you $150 for a light that wouldn't shut off - wow! I'm having a hard time thinking of situations so bad that CO would let go of $150. Perhaps if one of their BF seats came off it's tracks and slid back into coach you'd get a turkey sandwich and $50

You are allowed to get off the plane at every stop except Kwajalein, which is a U.S. military installation. Only those that have official business at the base, or are traveling to Ebeye (the neighboring town housing the locals), can deplane.

If you choose to deplane, you must take any carry-ons with you -- there's a luggage cart at the base of the stairway where you can put it during the layover. You can go into the terminal area only where boarding passengers are waiting, having been cleared by security.

With the exception of those in International Business class, one side of the aircraft must deplane for a security sweep at every other stop (e.g., seats ABC at one stop, DEF the next, etc.).
