Thumbs up Flying the friendly skies with Captain Flanagan on Saturday, February 28 from ORD-SFO

Hey Folks,

By now I’m sure almost everyone knows about Captain Flanagan, be it via the United forum or the various dinners he has had with FlyerTalkers around the country (including one tonight in DC). Finally we’re going to take it up for a notch, and instead actually fly with him, while he does what he does best.

We’ll be flying with him on Saturday, February 28 from ORD to SFO on UA153, which is the 6:45PM departure, getting in at 9:25PM. As if that's not cool enough, Captain Flanagan will be giving us a tour of flight operations, station operations, and a trip up the ramp tower, which coordinates the arrivals and departures from the B, C, E, and F gates, and maybe even a visit to the baggage area if there's time prior to our flight.

This will be a domestic 767 with confirmable upgrade space (as of now). Please post here if you're confirmed, and if you're comfortable with it, feel free to post your routing, specifically those of us on the pre-party IAD-RIC-ORD RJ flights or those on the SFO-JFK post-party PS redeye.

So, who’s interested?

Curses! I will miss all three! I'm MRing SFO-LHR-FRA-SFO that weekend. I'm really bummed that I'm missing this terrific opportunity.

You are trusting express to get you to Chicago for your flight? Hope there is a lot of cushion time in your schedule.

I like living dangerously.

I was able to find L fares similar to MatthewLAX's itinerary so I am in for the UX RIC party flights and ORD-SFO with Captain Flanagan.

Don't worry, we planned a long layover on purpose.

Yes, UA34 is the redeye. You're not joining us on IAD-RIC-ORD instead?

Sorry Lucky, my mistake.

I was able to put those flights in the multi city booking and get a lower fare then my original plan. I thought it would be more expensive so I did not bother to look.

Count on me to be on those flights.

I'd be down in a heartbeat, but alas am not available that weekend!

Am still looking forward to Cap't Flanagan's dinner tonight, though. ^
