Any interest in a NYC meeting?
I've been struck this week, along with everything else, by how many FlyerTalkers either live in New York City or have been stranded here by events. Some of you clearly saw Tuesday's destruction first-hand.
I've been fortunate in living and working six blocks apart on the Upper West Side, so the personal inconvenience to me, as opposed to the shock and utter sadness, has been nil. I've been consumed however, with the need to do something.
If the NYC (or involunarily-NYC) FT'ers (including the suburbs, of course), would like to have a get together over the weekend (I'm thinking Saturday or Sunday afternoon), just to talk and share stories, please post something here so I can gauge the level of interest. I'll organize a suitable meeting place and some refreshments, and post the details by Friday afternoon. I'm also planning to conduct a collection for the families of the firefighters and police officers who met their end so tragically.

I have a place lined up in midtown, but I need more interest for this to be do-able. Please post to this thread if you're interested.

This weekend I'll be spending time with my wife and daughter. They'd both clobber me if I spent any time away from them...especially for 'travel' related stuff. (wink)

Since, at this point, only three people have expressed interest, I will assume that everyone else is otherwise occupied. Perhaps we can still do this at a later date.

If anyone would like to hook up, I'll be flying to NYC on Wednesday night, staying at the NY Hilton on Thursday, in the Parsippany vicinity from Friday through Sunday and then back at the NY Hilton on Monday.
