Best Airlines to travel to India from USA

I have not travelled to India recently for the last few years.
What is the best airlines from the point of comfort, ontime, customer service, etc (apart from the price) to travel to india ?

Any recent travellers to India can share their experience ?
I heard Etihad customer service is not good. Is that right ?

Please share your experiences briefly.

Thank you !

Depends on starting point but United direct from Newark is actually pretty good. Otherwise look at Etihad, Qatar, or Jet. Jet is what most of my family flies from India and they love it

Several years ago I flew SQ LA to Calcutta. Don't know if that still operates.

From LAX I used Emirates via Dubai to Bangalore. The amiable flight attendents. decent catering and excellent in-flight entertainment system made the trip even in the back of the plane bearable.

I concur with Emirates, though I've only flown the 380 US to Dubai. A co-worker who flew a 777 was not as happy. Having flown that aircraft on the Dubai-Mumbai, leg, I would agree.

I was quite impressed with Turkish coming back from Istanbul. Assuming they continue on to India, I would guess it's pretty decent also.

I've flown TK economy between SIN and IST then on to MUC. Surprisingly comfortable seat on the long haul overnight with decent food; the Turkish Delight was a nice touch. I'd fly Turkish Airlines again but I didn't care for IST airport.

Cathay Pacific flies between LAX and HYD but requires a half-day layover in HKG on the outbound.

The cheapest unless you are traveling in a premium cabin. The average economy traveler is not going to notice any real difference.
