When Will FlyerTalk Proudly Welcome Its 400,000th Member?

It seems like only yesterday when FlyerTalk celebrated the registration of its 100,000th member.

As of the time this content was posted, FlyerTalk currently has 399,629 registered members.

When do you think that the 400,000th member will join FlyerTalk?

Although it is impossible to guess, would anyone also care to guess what the chosen FlyerTalk name of the new member will be?

On the first page of FT web site it right now states the number of members as 399.488.

It seems like only yesterday, there were some 140 more.

Are we hit by recession?

I do not know.

All I know is that I copied and pasted the number, not typed it in.

Weird...

People whose memberships were deleted, due to being spammers, or banned, or those who opted to resign?

I'm hoping it's my brother. I've been pressuring him to join for a while now and I even brought him to an event this year so hopefully he'll finally take the plunge.

400,000 Members

I see it back up occasionally as well. The net gain seems to be in excess of 100 per day.

I'll guess Saturday at 4:04 pm eastern time the 6th

I'll guess Fri., 4th May at 21:00 hrs MDT.

And as to the name I'll guess something with "yyz" in it as there seems to be thousands already so what's one more.

I'm liking this thread!

Canarsie suggested we offer a prize to the winner, and I'm in We'll do something nice for the closest guess.

Since this is pretty informal, it serves to explain the reason for the waxing and waning registration number:

On a daily basis, as you can imagine, we get hundreds of new registrations, some of which are great potential new FTers and some of which are spambots. We delete the spambots. So you'll see the total membership number go up and fall back a bit constantly as we battle the tide of fakies.

So the winner will be determined by when the 400,000th REAL member signs up and stays up.

Paul
