I am looking to fly bkk-nng-kwl on China Southern. Is a 70 minute connection at nng enough or too risky?

Never mind... bkk-nng-kwl is on the same CZ flight 6100.

In theory, NNG-KWL could happen independent of BKK-NNG, but I'm comfortable proclaiming this to be a non-issue.

Switching topics back to Nanning in general, I have been meaning to post pics from recent visits (why does FT continue to make this process so laborious?!), and will try to do so later today.

The bottom line is that I can finally see progress!
-above ground construction on Line 1 is now almost complete
-there are now proper sidewalks and street lights near Xi Da (our area)
-the air quality is amazing

A brand new sidewalk

This street was complete hell until about 3 months ago. The general tone on Tripadvisor was "don't go there!". But, now things are looking up

Nongyuan Lu (students seem to enjoy this street)

午休 (A pretty easy habit to pick up, even for first time visitors)

Building management turned off the light in our elevators at 7p on Friday

This is the Queen's Head. I currently stay in Nanning on Friday nights (far better than taking the 720p FM flight, which gets me home at 3a), and I must admit that the QH is kind of fun

Good to see that the constructions at Xi Da are nearly finished.

The whole area was a totally mess up still in december/january.

70 min. should be totally fine.

The airport is not that busy and I never had to wait much time at check - in or border control.

Subway construction = bad air quality

Right, at this time the air was not really good but itīs a temporary problem.

Regular I think the air condition is fine compared to other chinese cities.

They are building 7 more subway lines, and I'd be shocked if this process takes less than ten years (I.e I disagree with your use of "temporarily"). That having been said, only line 1 affects me, and it is good to go.

Anyone been to the beach/beach area in Nanning? How was it? On my way back from a visit to Vietnam a couple years ago I passed by Nanning but did not see much since just went straight to airport (much cheaper then flying from Hanoi).

Since Nanning is not near any seas , it lacks beaches.

This is bad news for the subway plan. I shall refrain from posting details, but I am comfortable stating that this project has been a complete disaster from the start.
