Uber and Lyft at ORD and MDW

Looks like this starts 11/18, per this Crain's article:
http://www.chicagobusiness.com/artic...alert-20151103

Excerpt:

"At O'Hare's domestic terminals, they'll be able to stop and pick up clients at two and only two locations. Those are the upper level--yes, the upper level, not the lower one where taxis pick up riders--between Terminals One and Two and between Terminals Two and Three. At the international Terminal Four, the pick-up zone will be at the west end of the lower level.

Drivers will be required to stay in their vehicle. That means, again in theory, that there will be no parking and then searching around inside for the client.

At Midway, the pick-up area also will be on the upper level, adjacent to Door One."

Would love for folks to post their experiences.
Would be particularly interested to understand what everyone's rule of thumb is for how far in advance to request the ride.

Uh...where's that?

Looking forward to lower fares and cleaner cars on the way from ORD though.

The trib's article doesn't make the mistake of labeling anything as T4, it just says "International Terminal".

I wouldn't be surprised to see the MDW location moved. The south end/door 1 of the upper level seems to be the most congested spot as people have a tendency to just get dropped at the first available spot. Even WN is by doors 3 and 4, it tends to be less busy there. IMO it would have made more sense to put in a few spots north of door 4.

Anyone used it yet?

Lyft sent me 2 x $5 off coupons to/from either airport, so I plan on trying this from MDW on Friday night.

Terminal 4 was located on lower level of the main parking structure where all the buses stop currently across from the Hilton.

I used Uber Monday night at ORD. There are signposts indicating pickup area. In my case it was at the upper level bend between T2 and T3. I originally wasn't sure of the pickup location, so I first found it and then requested a car. Waited less than 7 minutes at 10:30 PM. No having to cross traffic dragging your bags either.

I would guess if you are doing carry on, you could request as soon as you hop off the plane.
