John Kelly out as DHS secretary. He no longer work for DHS and now, he work at WH as chief-of-staff.

The DHS Secretary successor plan was put in place by the prior Admin. By moving Kelly out, the Obama-signed plan kicks in until Congress signs off on a replacement.

After working at DHS, she worked as the principal of Elaine Duke & Associates, described in her DHS bio as an acquisition and business consulting firm.
Since taking office (2nd stint a DHS began last April), Duke has taken a lead role in many of the agency's priorities, including an effort to increase security on large electronics in carry-ons on airplanes traveling to the US.
