You are ignoring your original statement.

Only after attempts at ignition (Reid) or partial successful ignition (Faruok) were passengers aware; but for fortunate mishaps the two were not successful


Given that two attempts to take down aircraft involved non-metallic devices, how do you support:

"WTMD's should be the base screening device as almost all weapons are of a metallic nature."

AND

"And screening by WTMD would offer a very satisfactory level of security as it would for anyone going through security."

There are about 1.8 million people who fly each day in the U.S..

1.8 million people x 365 days x 10 years (approx) and no U.S. based attempts of a non-metallic weapon deployment is evidence enough for me that these type of devices pose no great threat.

With that said if real security is the goal then no one should receive a reduced level of screening. No one!
