Just an update: The Examiner called me and stated that they were able to confirm GeekSquad pricing (thanks Internet) and that once a receipt for a replacement was received, I would get a check.

Submitted the receipt on Saturday after purchasing it with Amex.

Hope they pay attention though doubt it as it is 3rd party handles the claim.

Thanks for posting the ordeal though, so we know it is a hassle to claim this benefit with CSP.

Quick update:

They lost the receipt I sent them via email last Saturday but then they found it this Thursday. I was told it would take up to 5 business days to validate the receipt.

"Validate" a receipt? What does that mean?

Are they going to send the emailed copy to a forensic lab?

In other words--nonsense.

You would have had your money weeks ago with Amex. @:-)

The receipt was "validated" on August 30th by some sort of magic and a check was sent out. All in all, took about two hours of phone time and 31 days from start to finish to process a sub-$100 claim.

Never again.
