What is the best UR point strategy?

Here is my Chase breakdown:

UA Club - applied 5/12 (will close soon)
BA Visa - applied 7/12 (will keep open for the other 50k deposit)
PC - applied 11/12
UA Exp - Applied 2/13

Other than the UA Club, all the other cards are staying active. I know I can squeeze another Chase app, may do it before closing the club to move CL.

But, what is my best strategy to maximize UR points for 2013?

From what I've seen, the current offers are:

Sapphire Preferred - 40k after $3k spend
Ink Bold - 50k after $5k spend
Ink Plus - 50k after $5k spend

These are all business cards though. Are there any personal UR cards?

What would be a decent strategy to maximize getting all the flavors over the span of the year?

Sapphire Preferred is a personal card.

If you then throw an Ink in there for the gas, tv, internet, cable, etc you have a lot of expenses covered.

This seems like the most comprehensive strategy.

Chase only allows one app per day, correct?

So should I apply for Sapphire & freedom same month?

then wait a while and get the Ink?

Citi only allows one app in the same day, general rule for Chase is 2 cards per AOR.

You can do 3 or even 4 per day with Chase. Just be prepared to speak with their recon line

Yeah, this is why the rule of 2 is there. Very easy to explain why you need two cards, not so much with why you need 3 or 4.

I got the CSP .. they gave me grief for it because I did an AOR in Jan and got the Explorer card as part of it....

I now have 5 Chase products, will close down the UA Club once the miles for the month post... then probably close down the BA card sometime later this year once the other 50k post

Applied for and got approved for CSP (first) and Freedom (second) in one day (today). No problems doing it online.

I have 4 total chase products (WN/wnbiz/UA/CSP) .... Thinking about applying for the INK (or maybe the Priority Select 80K).

Did you nail your 5 chase products as part of AOR or spread out? My fico has gone from approx 780 to 723 due to the hard pulls resulting from my most recent card run. Just wondering if a 723 is going to kill my Ink or Priority app.

Jeff Rose, the personal finance blogger at GoodFinancialCents.com has a post titled, Credit Score Scale: What is a Good Credit Score? For what it's worth, he's a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) as well as a blogger.

He recommends a FICO credit score of 720. So you should be fine.

Considering the special case of FlyerTalkers, I'd aim keep it a little higher most of the time. This is to act as a buffer against the dips due to credit inquiries.

Good to know. I am usually in the 780-790 area but have been knocked down due to hard pulls on new approvals. Hoping to see a rebound throughout the rest of this year.
