Q. What are the best current offers?

Offer for 50K points for $3K spend over 3 months; AF waived first year, $125 thereafter. Extra 5K for adding additional cardholder.

Offer for 40K points for $3K spend over 3 months; AF waived first year, $95 thereafter. Extra 5K for adding additional cardholder.

Offer for 40K points for $2K spend over 3 months; AF waived first year, $95 thereafter.

Q. I just met the spend requirement. When will I receive my signup bonus points?

A. In most cases, your bonus will be credited after the close of the monthly billing cycle in which you meet the spend requirement. (Chase never posts signup bonuses mid-cycle.)

However, owing to a quirk in Chase's system, bonuses associated with charges incurred in the last ~7 days of a billing period may not post until the end of the following billing period. This is true even if the charges appear on your current statement and generate the standard number of points per dollar spent.

Thus, if you meet your bonus spend threshold late in your billing cycle, you may not receive the corresponding signup bonus until the following month. Calling Chase to complain will not change this, so be patient and enjoy your points when they finally appear.

Q. Can I apply for this card and earn the bonus after doing so previously?

A. See the wiki and related discussion in Applying for Chase Credit Cards [Consolidated]

I, for one, am NOT worried about them taking back my "extra" 50K. I just don't think they will do it. The rep was blowin' smoke, IMHO.

Yup, that's my sense too. That said, those of us who got the goodwill 50k, but have not yet received the 50k for the $3k spend, might be in a more vulnerable position. I met the spend earlier this month, but my statement hasn't closed yet so I haven't received my 50k. I could see them refusing it or making us fight for it. Not sure how many are like me in this category, but it could get interesting.

The 80K PC pts is a good card as in some pricey cities the PC pt can worth 1+ penny per point. The annual fee of $49 from 2nd year is more than paid for by the annual free night cert, as well as a 10% rebate on the award redemption, 0% forex fee. The earning rate sucks though because it is $1 per PC pts outside spending at PC properties which earn 5pts per $.
can i still do that even though they denied me for the card? basically, did i screw up by applying for the card so soon?

It does not hurt to call back and offer them to take some line from the Sapphire. In the past few months Chase has been known to allow shuffle of lines in order to get a new card approved even after the initial denial.

I agree, it would create so much trouble it wouldn't be worth it.

They denied me for the PC card. I called the next morning and offered to move some of the CL from my United card. I was approved for the PC card in 5 minutes.

I had messaged them for the extra 50k(only saying i heard there was a better offer) and they promised it saying it would appear within 1-2 days but nothing has showed up in a week, anyone in the same boat who was able to get them added? Just trying to strategize my response to them.

Still canned go away unless you have email today

Wife got in on the 100k weeks back. I just got my card and attempted the bump up and got the canned response within hours to go away unless you have the invite code.

Ah well. Has anyone at all done anything else to get an OK?

Agreed, just making up baloney to keep the likes of 1500forGold happy because they are phoning and complaining ad nauseam.

Seriously, we get it. People are upset because they didn't get something they weren't entitled to in the first place, while others got lucky. For further examples of this entitlement, please see any of the mistake fare threads.

Sorry delta, the gig has been up for quite a while.

Does anyone have a better number to call? I called all 3 numbers provided in one of the earlier post and it doesn't seem like any agents were willing to do anything about it. My ap shows pending so I might get approved in another week or two but I'd like to expedite it.

which number to call for this?

edit: i called chase and told them the situation, they asked a few questions, manually ran it and approved it...didn't even have to switch anything from the sapphire.

I asked for the extra 50k when I called to activate my card (this was a day or two after denials started popping up). The rep hadn't heard of the deal but wrote down my request and sent it in with the offer code and told me to wait a week or two and if the miles don't post to call back (they were also double checking if I had been targeted since I throw out most of my junk mail without reading).

Not expecting much, but will report back when I know how it turns out—at least it wasn't an instant denial.

Not sure why people make this so personal and why I'm getting flamed here for having attempted to fight for the deal. There's nothing wrong with putting up a good fight to try to get something you weren't entitled to. That's part of the game we play. We've seen it plenty of times that FTers are rewarded for pushing hard and being the 'squeaky wheel.' As long as people aren't sabotaging deals for other people (e.g., calling about an ongoing mistake fare, posting a fuel dump all over the internet, abusing a credit card loophole), I'd encourage everyone to fight and get what they can. I'm personally happy for everyone who got lucky on this one; I realize that you win some and lose some, and my talk of "fairness" is only a tactic that I've used to deal with Chase.

I'm guessing you had messaged them early on before this deal died?
The exact same thing happened to me. It took me 8 emails before someone finally gave me the points first promised to me. I was denied by 3 people before that. I just kept emailing them and quoting what the first rep had told me and asking them to stand behind their reps. I had given up actually. The last email I had sent I figured they refused to respond anymore to me. But 4 days after the last email they messaged back with the 50000. Made me happy. Good luck, I think you may have a chance.
