The 2% cashback reflects the waiver of the foreign handling fee.

Yeah I neglected to mention the 2% cashback on overseas since it's basically a wash with the standard 1.95% FTF

EDIT: Just to be clear, even though the website says "Foreign Currency Handling Fee Waiver", the details appear to say it's actually giving you 2% cashback on overseas transactions in order to offset the charge. Hence, the above description

Just wondering if the Shacom card's welcome bonus require HK$7000 (https://www.shacombank.com.hk/eng/pe...lk_gift_tc.pdf) or HK$3000 (as per wiki)?

I can't figure out when they changed it but they did. Well, unless you saved a copy of old terms and submitted an application near that date, new spending requirement applicable.

It highly depends on what you know to trade.

Apple GC will trade higher than supermarket coupon.

But because second hand market for Apple GC is a lot less liquid than supermarket coupon
I strongly suggest you to trade a small amount (say $5K) (which you can easily use yourself even if you can't sell it)
with one of the traders in https://forum.hongkongcard.com/forumSE/4-25 (Apple GC will be very hard to trade ATM given there's few Apple products profitable to be traded on the parallel market)
before maxing the cards to $30K.

If you previously traded Apple GC and you confirm your trader is still active, then doing a forced trade this month is not necessary.

You can see user "NewCard" in https://forum.hongkongcard.com/forumSE/4-25 trying the same thing (establish contact with Apple GC trader) - not sure if he's getting much luck.

Yes not getting a lot of traction with the AGC traders. But i think the market price is ~95 atm. Perhaps thinking of waiting till next month (end of Phase 2 / beginning of Phase 3 to further assess).

The other safer alternative I feel is to warehouse PNS Coupon - I think you can (hopefully) get ~96 during CNY.

What is the highest LT value though... AG? Fortress? Broadway? Think for safety, can always sell Manning/Wellcome/ParkNShop @ ~945... but obviously want to target closer to 96 to make it work

Thinking of applying for Fubon and Wing Lung for a quick 10k AM bonus.

Do either bank charge for transferring the miles to AM? Plan would be to get the bonus miles then close immediately since neither card is worth keeping for the long-term as far as I understand.

Fubon is worthwhile for Taiwan/Korea/Japan travel, and other overseas travel if no particular bonuses from other cards. HK$0.75/AM in TW and HK$1.875/AM for KR/JP. Otherwise HK$3.75/AM for other overseas spend
