CX AE welcome offer MPC Green

Guys, I have just got the CX AE card and the welcome offers comes with MPC Green joining fee waived.

If I was downgraded to Asia Miles from MPC Green in the past, can I use this offer to re-join again?

Or I need to join as a brand new account, and merge with my current AM account. Does it works?

Thanks.

Can rejoin. I downgraded and re-upgraded. It's processed as fee waiver of the joining fee

Hi Percy

Did you wait to be downgraded before applying or did you tell them you had the CX Amex when they wanted to downgrade you?

Oh sorry - HSBC accidentally published 35% Avios bonus promo on 2 June https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cath...l#post28391617 but removed it on 3 June https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cath...l#post28397124

The 30% Avios bonus promo will start on 1 July, if HSBC follows through with the accidental preview.

Hongkongcard.com captured the offer text https://forum.hongkongcard.com/forumSE/show/22091

I'm thinking of signing for a new credit card for the welcome bonuses, should I wait until July 1? Not sure if the new offers might be better than what's currently available...?

Wow. That's a coin flip question - can go either way

But anyway, the 30 June ending offers are at historical averages, I'd be very surprised if banks felt they needed to up the offers

gotcha. yea i was thinking about it since I already have a couple of the cards with the better welcome offers so currently thinking about signing for a new one.

Also, just wondering if there's a thread on how to best utilize bank accounts/payroll accounts offers? I've been with SCB for almost a year now and the bonus 1% interest rate is ending soon so I might look to jump around a bit...

Dah Sing but they make you sing for your supper https://www.dahsing.com/en/pdf/depos...roll_tnc_e.pdf - you have to use their AAVS card, bill pay, trade securities and spend $3K/month on their credit card to earn max interest

And even if you juggle all that, we aren't sure they want to extend after 1 July anyway https://forum.hongkongcard.com/forum.../20649?page=10 #92

A bit OT for here
Can't think of another banks that gives miles for payroll other than SCB tho.

What's the current SCB payroll account offer - and if I shift my salary autopay from Citi to SCB, do I have to start paying fees on the Citi account - that's the key question.
