G16 Lounge closed for refit (reopen approx. Mar 2018)
Confirmed today that the Dragonair G16 lounge will get an Ilse Crawford makeover to become a HKG version of Haneda/Bangkok/Taipei/Manila, including a noodle bar and a new name.

For what it's worth, given the other HKG lounges are all named "The Something", I've suggested the new G16 should be called "The Cathay Dragon's Den."

How about ''The Dragons End''?
End of Dragon Air (as a name), and at the end of that area in the terminal..
Im sure they can find a name to reflect that it was the Dragon Air lounge.
But in all honesty, was it very popular? I only visited twice in 100+ transits via HKG and only when the others were closed late at night.

Can we expect The G16 to be a mini-copy of The Wing J/F? MNL,BKK,Pier J/F,HND lounges are all low level ceiling lounges (not sure what's the word for that in english, but you get the idea),unlike The Wing/G16.

The Wing and The Pier
The Cabin
The Bridge (which I can't visualize why it is called so...)
Given that it's so small... I guess it can be called The Room or The Corner...

It was not that popular, which made it one of HKIA's hidden gems. I loved G16 - it didn't have the glitz of the other lounges, but it was perfect for me. The only downside was the lack of toilets and champagne, but everything else was fine for me, especially the help yourself drinks and the seats overlooking the apron and the runway. I will miss it.
