CX vs JAL NRT-HKG in J
Hello everyone,
I was hoping to get some advice. I'll be flying NRT-HKG and have two options;
JAL 787 angled-flat
CX 777 Regional.
Obviously, the seats will be better on JAL, and I think the service will be similar on both, but which has better food on this sector?
Any thoughts would be much appreciated !

Have done both recently, and this is a tough one.
First off: If food is your main criteria, there is only one possible choice: JAL
Some additional thoughts though:
CX's Regional new J is nothing special, but it's not bad either. It's a mix of Premium Economy and an average 2-3-2 Business class layout, for example TK's. Food on CX is generally abysmal these days.
Having said that, I despise the angle flat on JAL. It's a cramped, horrible seating experience altogether. The cabin temp on my NRT-HKG leg was way too hot. Food was significantly better than CX.
As for service: In my book, JL wins on long haul any day - I would say it's a draw for regional though.
Altogether: Go by flight time & price. There's no difference between these two on this route (again, unless food really is your top priority).
