cabin downgrade compensation

Hi, I'm seeking your advice on cabin downgrade compensation. My cabin was downgraded by CX on a short haul (2 hours flight). As my ticket is a reward ticket, they offered an upgrade certificate for compensation instead of Asia miles. I read quite a few threads here and believe the certificate could be quite difficult to use unless you travel with CX every week.

Should I take that or argue for others? Thanks!

Why can't they refund the difference in Asia Miles between the two classes?

I have had a few upgrade vouchers (not recently) and managed to use them successfully, but I agree that you can never be certain about that.
