ex-HND: No more BN, now SEC

Just got back from Haneda and noticed that when I did OLCI there was no BN and when I printed out my BP, there was a SEC# instead.

BP also had 4 classes (for seat #'s) which is the first time I've noticed it

I 'm wondering if this is the implementation of "CIV" that's mentioned on the forum.

What is SEC? Seems like it is security related?

What do you mean by "4 classes"?

I think (I haven't seen it) that OP meant there are four coloured boxes on the BP stub instead of three.

There used to be three even after EY+ was introduced.

Correct - now 4 boxes, with EY+ being orange / yellow

Not sure, it's in the space where BN used to be

This is probably unfair of me, but considering the rapidly declining level of English I've spotted in other CX venues recently (like the FAQ on Enhance), I almost wonder if it's supposed to be "Sequence" and they didn't realize it would be more natural to use "SEQ"!

I think Haneda is the first place to use the Amadeus check in system.

I've seen the SEC number before; I often see it written out of sequence number which I believe is the exact same thing as BN.

However the 4-box thing is new. I didn't even see that on my last flight a few days ago. I'll see if I get the new pass on my flight today.

I did read somewhere on CX World that the new check in system means that Y+ is treated as a proper class now from a systems perspective. Before it was a pseudo class.

Do they even have enough space to fit in another box on the BP....it would be quite helpful if someone can post a photo of the new bp

Correct. And this change is already active. Until few weeks ago, if you did a search on any online engine (like EF or KVS) for Y+ it would show you Y+ and Y seats together with all Y seats either occupied or blocked.

For Y search, all Y+ and Y seats with all Y seats either occupied or blocked.

Now it doesn't show together and they really behave like two different classes.

sarcastically …Its nice that CX now treats those pax who fly in Y+ and pay X or Xx2 dollars more that they really are in a different class to Y.
