I am looking at booking travel in late September from Manila, Philippines to Perth, Australia. CX offers a fare option called Economy Supersaver for this route that is considerably cheaper than Economy Save. However, it mentions that no advance seat selection is possible. This is very concerning for me as I'm looking at overnight flights to save two nights hotel costs in Perth, so I need to know I'm going to get a bulkhead or exit row.

As I am CX Gold, if I book the Economy Supersaver, will it let me do my advance seat selection anyway online (incl. preferred seats which is what I would need to survive two overnights)? Or if I call in will they do this for me?

It costs about 50% more for Economy Save so this is why the dilemma. If it was just $50-$100 I would take the fare for the miles and the seat assurance, but at $350 I want to do my homework before deciding.

(My other option is SQ through SIN which is quicker on the way back by ~5 hrs, and is in between CX's two options in price for a full miles ticket.)

Yes, you can select seats. Make sure your MPO number is entered when you book the ticket and then you can do it either at booking or in MMB afterward.
