Note that not all the new 77Ws have the new Y seats mentioned by the OP. They are only available on the newer 77G and 77H planes.

And newly configured 77H.

Does anyone know if the Y seats in 77W can be reclined? I know those in 744 cannot, so I wonder if the new 77W any different.

Welcome to FT mate. If your flight is on a 4-class 77H or a 3-class 77G (NO F), then your seats recline. We still have 77D's that will be retrofitted to seats that recline. I highly reccommend you read the FAQ's section and visit the CX website for info you might have missed.

Thanks! I am trying to book a LDN-HK flight, and they have a mixture of 77W and 744 planes. But the price is higher in 77W! Not sure if it's worth to pay the extra.

welcome to FT, reading around here you will find that if it is the new Y, it probably is worth it unless you are like me when in Y, i sedate myself with strong sleeping meds after the first meal and awake on landing...

Sorry for asking the obvious
Just want to confirm my understanding of the rollout of Cradle from FAQ part 1 - am I right in saying if my plane is either a B777 or A330 and it has Premium Economy, it also has Cradle seats?
Any B777 or A330 with Premium Economy but not Cradle (still Shell)?

Thanks jumbojet19920711

Been on the CX101 33G with cradle seat. Very satisfied with new hardware:

Pluses:
- no need to insert magazines to support back after recline
- touchscreen best IFE out there (subject to movie progress bar comment below)
- USB *and* AC power
- "desk tidy" beneath touchscreen to put glasses and iPhones under charge
- no more IFE box under seats A/K

Minuses:
- (I'm too much of an apple fan) progress bar in movies cannot be used to start playing a film at given point

On the 33G, row 42-ish seems to be the place to be, the cabin is divided between PEY and Y and makes that Y cabin cozy.

On the other hand the excellent seat was a bit let down by the service on that particular flight - no bottled water after mine was confiscated by AU/US gate LAG check (they seem to like to seal off HKG gates 65-71 for US/AU flights now) and very few drinks runs during the flight (just meals, thereabouts), they started the breakfast run 2.5 hours out from Sydney (excessive in my view) but were still so rushed they failed to offer coffee (it was on the trolley, but I had to ask).

Dilution of Y service so PEY can be beefed up?

Looking forward to my flight in the new Y tomorrow. Sounds very appealing. After spending many hours in the old Y on my last trip, I hope the new seats will help keep me flying CX!
