1) CX and MU do have an interline agreement.

2) Even if they would, I'm pretty sure your ticketing carrier will not issue an illegal ticket, which does not meet MCT.
Perfect - I also apparently can't do math as my connection would be 3 hours 5 minutes which does exceed MCT.

These would be ticketed separately (MU as a cash ticket, CX as an AA award ticket)

Yikes, I don't know how I missed that either

Gotcha. So you're good, provided the originating airline doesn't have an issue interlining on separate tickets.

Such policies are relatively rare and, so far, we have seen no indication that CX has one.

Actually, i think u'd be just fine. esp if MU@CTS is staffed by JL/NH which knows good rules - they aren't the people who would bend the rules when rules intend yes.

I have got a query involving 3 different PNRs:
1st PNR (revenue ticket): PVG-HKG on CX in R, then 7.5 hours on the ground
2nd PNR (award ticket issued by CX): HKG-DEL on CX in J, then 4.5 hours on the ground
3rd PNR (award ticket issued by AA): DEL-AUH on EY in F (continuing as AUH-LHR-DUS after 19.5 hours in AUH)

1) Although I will probably have enough time to re-check my bags @HKG granted the usual delay out of PVG is not absolutely insane, I'd prefer to have my bag checked through PVG-HKG-DEL-AUH. Does anyone have experience doing this on 3 PNRs involving 2 airlines? CX and EY do interline according to this thread and a CX phone rep.
I do not need to check my bags further than AUH as I will spend the day there and then check them in again later on AUH-LHR-DUS.

2) While I wouldn't mind re-checking the bag @HKG, much more importantly it would matter a lot to me being able to check the bags through on HKG-DEL-AUH as I would want to avoid dealing with an Indian visa in case I need to leave airside to re-check my bags. From what I'm reading, I should be fine about this part since CX and EY interline and I may just need to get my DEL-AUH boarding pass at the airside transfer desk in DEL, yes?

CX Interline baggage Agreement

Don't have any DEL transit experience, but CX/SIN did tag my bags through for a SIN-HKG-LAX (ticket#1, Revenue)-LIM (ticket #2, CX award ticket on LA)-LPB (ticket #3, SQ award on TA). This was a while back though. Usual Customs' experience @LAX but bags made through to the end.

More recent, CX->CX->BA on CX Award->CX Revenue->separate CX award on BA. Took the agent a bit of time, but bags showed up at the destination all ok and early.

Will CX interline for a 19 hr connection at HKG to LY? (They have an agreement). I just wonder if 19 hrs is within the limit - I can't find the limit documented anywhere.

Happy to report the interlining went OK. Check in staff at HKG tagged the bag to AUH which prompted a CX handling agent at DEL to meet me at the gate. Not sure this was because I arrived in J and connected to F. Escorted me to the transfer counter where unfortunately I had to wait for an hour for the EY agent to decide it was time to work a little. Pack enough time if you do this.
Took my passport and baggage tag, disappeared in the depth of the terminal somewhere and returned with my boarding pass and a smile after about 20 minutes, my bag was now being checked through to DUS via AUH and LHR. Told her I'd like to get my bag in AUH as I'd be spending the day in the city in transit. She brought me to the lounge and had me called to the reception about half an hour later to inform me I could now get my bag in AUH. Overall, rather pleasant experience except for the hour wait.

Looking at an earlier post from a few years back, Garuda (GA) has interline with CX. I have a 6.5 hour connection planned in CGK from HKG on CX and the next leg is GA domestic within Indonesia. Are there any issues with this - not worried about minimum MCT but are there pecularities with that airport like in North America where some connections require hauling out checked luggage and rechecking it for the domestic leg?

TPE - HKG - DXB 2 separate tix CX-EK

Hi FT CX,

am flying TPE-HKG(CX-J)-DXB(EK-F) with 2 separate PNR reward tickets. My assumption and hope is CX in TPE will interline my checked luggage straight thru to DXB via EK on my behalf is accurate?

All I need to do is check in with EK upon my arrival in HKG, and link the luggage tags at check-in correct?

I plan on going into the city for the day (assuming I do not alter the itin, and fly in the evening before) before returning to HKIA for my evening flight.

Thanks for guidance and clarification.^

AF to CX

Sorry for digging this thread up.

Does AF (domestic to CDG) interline with CX (to HKG)?

Will be on separate tickets.

They will most likely interline. Just have the onward PNR and flight number ready!

Recently did las-lax on AA and LAX-HKG on CX (ticketed separately). Was informed they would only handle if itinerary was on the same ticket.

Just fresh from the oven. I did TXL-DUS-HKG-PVG yesterda. TXL-DUS on AB and DUS-HKG-PVG on CX. AB refused to interline my 2 suitcases because it was on 2 different PNRs. AB only allows one checked luggage and 1 cabin luggage. I had 1 cabin luggage and 2 checked suitcases. As I protested about AB's refusal to interline my 2 checked suitcases, AB check-in staff said they still would not interline (meaning I have to claim my luggage and re-check in in DUS) because interlining two different PNRs is CX's policy, not AB's. However, they did not charge my 2nd suitcase because CX allows me to bring 2 checked luggage
