Country Inn Suites, DFW South.
Any comments regarding the above location, or any other Carlson property near DFW area? Need to do a one night in the area, and did not see anything posted.

Here's one good thing about this property: they frequently offer a parking package -- good for seven days -- for a very affordable $10 premium over their lowest rate.
I did this two weeks ago, paying $89 for the package.

Is this the only "good thing" about this property? Could you offer more info. I'm not interested in parking package, more of a one night stay, near DFW, and I was considering this hotel.

Varied reviews, but most look fairly good.
Breakfasts at CI&S are usually good.

This was my first stay at a country inn & suites property so I don't know how it compares to brand expectations.
I thought it was okay. Airport shuttle pickup was 20 minute wait. If calling using the phones then need to use the one outside (not the one in baggage claim) and I note the hotel name given in response to the "coun" code was something like country suites Arlington, which doesn't match the actual hotel name or the town in their address (Irving). Vehicle was more of a car than van (and certainly not a bus). The trip between airport and hotel is about 10 minutes (no heavy traffic for me).
The hotel location is not far from a big interchange but I didn't hear any traffic noise other than the odd aircraft taking off overhead. There didn't seem to be much of anything in the vicinity of the hotel. I got a room upgrade to a suite due to my status. I don't think the hotel was very busy - didn't see many people around and the shuttle booking sheet for going back to the airport only had me on it when I left around midday.
Room was okay. Elite gift was a bottle of water and a biggish size bag of snack mix.
Breakfast was included in my rate but I didn't have any - trying to catch up on sleep after storms kept me up half the night.
I'd stay there again. The price was okay and reasonably convenient.

I stayed there two years ago. Only nice thing I will say is about the staff. Old creaky Country Inn with ragged carpeting, very old furniture, and sheets reeked off bleach. Typical Club Carlson breakfast, watered down Orange Juice or Imitation Orange Juice, Bland Cereal, No Bananas, White break toast. Not worth it.
