Greetings!

I'm new here so my apologies if this isn't on the right forum.

We will be traveling from Curacao to Toronto in early December and the only reasonable time/price options for us on our travel date go through Miami on AA.

Our options are:

1. Take the 4pm-ish flight that connects in Miami with only 1 hr 45 minutes before our flight to Toronto. (Bonus... More time in Curacao and less time in transit! Minus... Tight connection!)

2. Opt for the 8am flight that connects in Miami with over 4 hours before our flight to Toronto. (Bonus... No worries about MIA connections. Minus... We'll need to be up well before 6am and will have over 10 hours travel time.)

Just wondering if we actually will have to get our bags and recheck them in Miami before heading to Toronto. I've read opposing opinions on this. If we have to get our bags, we'll likely bite the bullet and opt for the early morning, longer connection in Miami.

Unless MIA has OSS in place, you will have to pick up your bags because you are still making entry into the States. There is no such thing as in-transit in the US of A...
