Last Minute St. Lucia Hotel Advice?

Hey all,

I bit the bullet on the recent Newark - St Lucia deal for $261 in early September (9/4-9/5) w/ 2 nights in Miami

Does anyone in r/travel have experience with booking hotels this close to the date. Any idea if they will get cheaper as time moves up?

There are not too many hotel partners and the best "deal" i am seeing at the moment is the Anse Chastanet for $250/nt.

My budget would be up to $400 for a top of the line resort. Ig you could provide any guidance on whether i should book something tentatively now or through an opaque bidding site, I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks!!

The place I booked - http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev..._Quarter_.html is sold out, otherwise super nice people to deal with, not a bad view, close to beach etc...I did look at most of the hotels online, you might get lucky through AirBNB or VRBO, but I'd take the Anse Chastanet for 250 for the night, my dates were close to 1k per night

Check out Living Social and also Groupon. They have awesome getaway deals. Few weeks ago I saw the Anse Chastanet 4 night for 2 people for a total of around $450 for all 4 nights. IT was an amazing deal.
