The airport has reopened, but Air Sunshine is still not flying into it (airport not re-opened to Cessna 402s). Island Birds can fly directly in.

Island Birds really doesn't offer anything for anyone traveling from outside the BVI. I've flown them to Anegada.
The best bet right now is flying into Beef Island and ferry across.

Plus, the landing in to VIJ is pretty exciting.

I guess I didn't phrase myself correctly
I charter the full plane, since I usually go for a week or two at a time and bring provisions along, and in my experience, every quote I've received from them is twice as expensive as chartering from a Puerto Rico based charter (Air Flamenco is my pick).
Air Sunshine is still the best deal per seat, but they fill up fast.

Despite it's nickname as "Air Sometimes," our experiences with Air Sunshine have been very positive. It is easy and cost effective (relatively speaking), but, they do book fast, especially at peak holiday times. If we are going to VIJ for Christmas, I typically make the plans in April, but, this year, we decided more "last minute." Hence the need to charter.

I've chartered Air Flamenco into VIJ previously. As of this summer, just like Air Sunshine, they still haven't been granted permission to land there, but I've spoken personally with the owner and he's pushing to get permission by the end of the year.

Our Island Birds charter into VIJ went very smoothly.
We took Air Sunshine out of Beef Island and they made it very easy. They chartered a boat that left from Spanish Town (the Yacht Harbor), which was very easy. About 20 minutes to get to Beef Island. This was included in the fare.
