Banff/Jasper Accommodation using points/miles?
I have 4 free Fairmont nights, that I am planning to use at Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper (Thanks to the CC).This is for next summer for 2 adults and 2 lil kids.
We will be touring Canadian Rockies for 10 nights and 11 days. So I need to figure out my hotel/accommodation bookings right now. Still more than 10 months to go for our vacation, I need to plan which hotel properties to stay, which CC to apply, so that I can earn points towards my stays.
If I need to convert miles from airlines, that is also fine with me. I am trying to be frugal. Thanks.

As I'm sure Googling has shown you, the Fairmont properties in the Canadian Rockies are some of the most famous hotels in Canada -
Banff Springs Hotel:

Chateau Lake Louise:

Jasper Park Lodge:

Keep in mind all of these properties are older, 'regal' hotels. The Banff Springs was built in 1888. So in some cases the rooms will the smaller, the hallways quirky etc.

You could plan a night at your arrival city (Calgary?) where you have a choice of dozens of hotels, and head out the next morning into the Rockies - and do the same again on the way back perhaps. There will be several in the lower point categories, allowing you to make some savings there if you want to (and Calgary is a pretty nice city).
