Easiest route from Montreal Airport to Downtown?

Easiest route from Montreal Airport to Downtown?
Going for a conference. Considering staying at Hilton Garden Inn at airport as downtown hotels are expensive.
Would it be practical to travel in every day via public transport?

Why not stay in the Plateau? Nice tourist-type hotels with free wifi and the like for something around $100/night, plus you'll be in the heart of the city and will have a much more enjoyable environment around you.

Lots of affordable hotels for all budget in the downtown and Plateau area. No need to tough it out by the airport wasteland.

Plateau = coolest urban neighborhood in all of North America. Seriously.

Public transit to Hilton Garden Inn near the airport is kind of crap and will be long to due the necessity to take the bus along with the metro (subway). you really are better off in the centre of the city.
