What was up at T1 YYZ Customs this AM?

I've heard people talking that many US bound flights were delayed; massive delay outside the custom hall; many flights delayed an hour or more...anyone there? Job action? Was Nexus up?

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

It's not DHS. The CATSA people are staging some sort of work-to-rule campaign and it's affecting all areas at YYZ. In the case of transborder, it's bcking things up into the pre-clearance area and creating issues there...

Just saw on news--some kind of illegal work stoppage/to rule thing by CATSA. Lady interviewed was saying that she had been in line since 2pm (and was now 5pm), and that people were in essence lined up to the exits--her words were to "where you drive to drop off people"...when asked if she could see security people she said she had not even got close enough to that area to find out.

Eeek

Best quote:
They returned to a normal level of efficiency around 3 p.m. when the Canada Industrial Relations Board ordered them to do so.

Well, they may have gone back to work at 3 pm, but flights to BOS are delayed 3+ hours as of 7 pm

It's the only way that works. Wildcat and sympathetic actions only happen if employer/employee relations have broken down to the point where there is enough hatred and distrust to create the necessary conditions. I've always supported and encouraged this type of action when there is no other way. The only problem is that the same people too often vote Tory in the next election completely undermining what they just did.

Shades of the YYC walkout in 2004...

Only way that works, eh?
Whatever happened to standing up and finding a new line of work if you don't like what's going on?
What a joke. Typical of the simpleton union-mentality of these dullards.

I'd love for someone to have the b@lls to come in and lower the hammer on all these morons. Really wish I was old enough when Regan did it to savour and laugh at all the ATC bounced out on their asses

I feel for the paying PAX who gets screwed again waiting for hours in lines, missing flights, with no word on what the issue is.

Or how about ideological belief in trade unionism and socialism?
By being so quick to judge, aren't you adopting a simple mentality yourself?
