So I have completed this trip, and I end up flying from HKG to BKK, took a bus to Siem Reap (Cambodia), took a bus back to BKK, flew from BKK to SIN, took an overnight train to Kuala lumpur, took a bus to malacca, then another bus to SIN, flew back to HKG, all in 2 weeks. On avg I stayed in each city for 2 days. I stayed at hostels and in total I spent around 800usd not including air fare.
