No UUA allowed even if available with BAEC?
Iirops. So after avoiding BA, better half was put back on a BA flight in J. F with avios was available but due to it not being BA ticket no can doon the upgrade front. Few questions:
Presumably no UUA was correct?
Can you opt for "actual flown credit"rather than ORC?
Does the flight count as a BA metal for the purposes of the 4 flights?
Thanks

If the flight is booked on a non BA ticket (i.e. not 125-...) then it is not possible to UuA.
The passenger would be credited as flown. If you do nothing then that's how it stays. it is only if you do an ORC that the actual credit is removed and replaced with the ORC.
Yes, an eligible flight may include any BA marketed or operated flight.

2- you will automatically get the "actual flown credit" if BAEC number is in the booking. Could be quite lucrative if rebooked in J/C/D. ORC is only applied manually if you request it.
3- yes it will do, assuming you're booked in an earning fare class

I had a similar thing happen last year. AA MCO-MIA-LHR (same flight number, so MCO-LHR) was delayed by 2 hours so AA put me on MCO-LGW but booked in J class. Crap flight as usual on that sector but a huge Avios haul plus the special Avios bonus kicked in at the time too. Sometimes these things work to your advantage.

You would need to take this up with AY - I would suggest that the amount that will be due will be so small as to not make it worth pursuing
The downgraded distance is 3.3% of the AMS-SIN journey . You would be due 30% of the value of the downgraded segment. Even if the fare for the AMS-SIN part of booking was GBP2000, that could be as low as GBP20 due

Thanks for the answers. I am unclear where 30% comes from but it's not so important anyway. Lost tier points could be more important but in this case do not move the dial either way.
