BOB Snack Trial on Long Haul
Mods, feel free to merge this into something if not already posted...
From 23rd August, Pringles, M&Ms and Malteser Snacks will be available to purchase on all long haul flights, apart from ABV, DME, LAD, IKA and A321 operated flights.
Will not have a price in the magazine and will be a "trial", a temporary change will be made to the IFR announcement.
I feel ashamed.

Finally the inevitable has happened. I personally can't wait for it to be introduced on shorthaul as it will finally end the shambolic offering in ET. I can't see any genuine enhancements to catering in WT/ET with Señor Cruz at the helm due to his past at Vueling.
What will the difference be between the ambient snack and the BOB offering?

I don't know... There is not a lot of detail yet. It will be offered as part of the IFR offering, so imagine it will be available from after the first meal service and till the IFR bars have to be closed before landing.

Of course this will be a roaring success. People going on holiday will of course spend £1-2 on easy snacks to watch with the movie - that statistics will lead to the roll-out of the same on short haul eventually.
However, why they're trialling such awful food is beyond me. Perhaps better to offer some healthier alternatives such as nuts, etc...
It is good they offer the choice, however it does seem a bit desperate. I've not flown long haul economy for years however last time this was free (in the late 2000s) so a bit silly this change.
Frustrating for those having to fly Y that BA seems to think emulating an LCC model somehow introduces 'consumer choice' ala Norwegian.

The BA brand is really taking a hammering so I completely understand the embarrassment this brings to you and your fellow crew members.

Great. They've taken away the tuck boxes and now they are trying to sell it to us! Disgraceful.
And WHY trial it on LH??!! It's just a slap in the face to be quite honest.

UA apparently failed miserably with this, and US customers have been conditioned for more than a decade to expect at least some BOB on flights even over 6 hours.
