** Can't believe this was my 2,000th post. What a waste **
You're confusing the current fleet with the entire figure which included their former 737-700s which have gone to Southwest and JT Finland.

Here are their current 737-700s, all under 3 yars old: https://www.planespotters.net/produc...Status=current

Maersk Air, eh? That's a blast from the past.

One of the BA staff regulars commented in another thread that BA would wet-lease equivalent of 2 aircraft full-time this summer, so I assume this is it.

They were delivered in the last 3 years... but are still between 14-17 years old

Will definitely be giving them a try if operating to MAN.

I've always had a dislike of the 737 for some reason... especially old ones

I'll be seeking A32x flights if I need to do a LHR run.

Whatever happened to the EI planes that were leased to Virgin for little red? Did they just go back to EI or did they lease these to somebody else after that?

Obviously a comment from a plane geek....99% of passengers won't care how old or what type of aircraft they're on.

Oh dear

If the aircraft being used are as ancient as is suggested up thread, I'd better allow longer connecting times when connecting from MAN.

From what I recall reading here about the LGW services, the B737 reliability wasn't the best with rather frequent delays.

The 737-700 is a different generation of aircraft than what BA used to use for MAN-LGW which was the 737-400. I don't think 14-17 years old is particularly old for aircraft.

Younger than all of BA's 744s and most of their 772s...

Went back to EI which allowed EI to dispose of two of their four A319's to Vuelling.

I'd rather fly on a 737 any day than an Airbus 319/320/321.
