What will be cut from the BAEC benefits next?

Well I will not enumerate all the benefits we have lost this year (there is a character limit on FlyerTalk posts ), but the loss of the LGW F lounge after 3pm and the HBO fares without seat choice were the latest irritations.

So any bets on what is coming up next?

I will award whoever is correct with 100% of my present Avios balance.

Which is zero due to the lock-down?

Avios earning rates on partners flights or is that too easy?

I would bet something to do with guesting privileges.

Guests in lounges cut
First class lounges for first class travellers only
Hand baggage allowances trimmed to an acceptable level
Tier points and Avios on partner airlines trimmed

Plenty of scope yet.

I reckon the Domestic and Euro Traveller 'Complimentary onboard food and bar service' on those band 1 & 2 flights must be about ready for the chop! They are being ruthless at the moment.

EDIT: oops, sorry, that's not a BAEC benefit!

Don't discourage them by letting them know the prize is pointless.*

Very good, but I think this has been semi-announced.

If the earning rate is appallingly bad (e.g., zero on discount Y fares) I will award you the prize.

I can think of some...especially inspired by Lufthansa...but then I suspect some angry FTers will PM me for giving them ideas especially relating to the CCR!

Flew Air Malta today in SH J DUS-MLA. Pre-departure drinks served in glassware. Curtains fully drawn on the J cabin creating a lovey private feel. Two toilet chancers from Y turned away without hesitation. Friendly, pro-active crew who were up from their seats the moment the seatbelt light went off to take drink orders one by one and deliver by hand. Two hot towel runs. A meal featuring a starter, main, dessert and cheese all better and more substantial than on any CW, (much less CE,) flight I have ever had, including CWLCY. Euro-style J seating yes, but comfy padded heavy leather seats, not slimline money-savers.

My wife, who is a GCH through her own flying, was shocked at how poor BA compared in the onboard product, and how much more KM seemed to care about making shorthaul J customers feel taken care of.

Night and day.

Avios balance being zeroed out on 27 Mar of each year.

Reward availability boosted on 28 Mar, and then cut down by 99% on 1 Apr, because the lack of demand from the customers clearly indicated that they did not want it.

I suspect they're already on their list ... they just want to introduce them at an 'appropriate time of the year'.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the status soft landing being enhanced.
