New lounge at BUD

We noticed some workmen in the old Malev Lounge on our last trip in December, and today we were pleased to see a new Celebi run lounge in place of the old one which is now closed off.

It's much more spacious, modern and smart.

There are a couple of booths with computers and printers, as well as a selection of sit-down tables, sofas and a large circular elevated feature sofa.

The food selection is mildly improved, since there appears to be more space. The drinks selection and equipment seems to be a lift & shift from the previous lounge, including the horrid Kinley tonic dispenser.

Overall, not it's not at all bad and a definite improvement to the previous miserable lounge!

That's very good news. Are there tarmac views? The only lounge at least had those. Oh and far more importantly, are there actually bathrooms in the lounge? Having to leave the old one to use the WC was the worst part of the old Platinum Lounge or whatever it was called.

Is this lounge BA-only or third party?

If Celebi run, I'd say 3rd party for all eligible non-Schengen pax (BA + QR, TK, EK, LY, MS (?) come to mind)

Yes you have tarmac views but unfortunately not of the gate the BA flights use as with the other lounge.

The bathrooms are the same - you need to exit the lounge. It's a generic lounge so not specific to BA. I do not think BA will ever have a dedicated lounge there - BA status and club pax don't even get fast track security

Gah that's annoying on both counts. It was nice being able to see your plane arrive so you knew when to leave the lounge and still having to exit for the bathroom is frustrating.
